About Me

I’m Laura Rahn and I love DREAMING about, DESIGNING, and DEPARTING on travel adventures! I have been including my big kids in the travel process since they were old enough to have a voice and input. I am a retired educator with 26 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school. Additionally, I spent seven years as an instructional coach, providing coaching, consulting, and professional learning to teachers from kindergarten to 12th grade, adult learners, and administrators. I am a certified travel coach with the Travel Coach Network.

I was born a traveler! As an Air Force BRAT for the first 18 years of my life, I explored the world with my family and learned how travel can help create lasting memories. I realized how much travel can impact your life when I spent 3 years in Italy during high school exploring different cultures and meeting new people.

Since becoming a wife, mother to two daughters, and educator, I have realized the authentic value of travel for families and want to share what I have learned with others. Watching my children grow through our travel adventures has been a highlight of my adult life. We have planned and taken family vacations to Alaska, Hawaii, Belize, many National Parks, Disney World, and other countless places since my girls were young. I often find the travel planning as much fun as the actual vacation itself!

If travel planning is a puzzle for you or you aren’t sure how to plan a vacation that your entire family will find fun and fulfilling, I’d love to help. Through coaching sessions, we can work together to find the resources and inspiration to create an adventure that everyone in your family will remember for years to come. I’m not booking hotels or making reservations for you; my role is to empower and support you in planning that perfect vacation for your family.

What is a Travel Coach?

…Someone who can help mediate your thinking to bring all of those great ideas and wishes to the surface as you plan a vacation.

Does the planning phase scare you, or you don’t know where to start? That’s where a travel coach comes in, we talk and get to know each other and I am then able to help you navigate the planning process to create and design that perfect vacation for you and your family/fellow traveler.

Sahara Rose (founder and CEO of the Travel Coach Network) says, “The main difference between a travel agent and a travel coach is the booking, control, and long-term goals. Travel coaches don’t make travel bookings for clients (you will need a special license to do so). Instead, a travel coach will help the client take control over their getaways and help them gain the resources, tools, knowledge, empowerment, and support to plan and book trips on their own. It’s a skill that they can have for a lifetime! They also help people achieve their long-term goals through travel.”

• Discovery Call/Meeting - no charge, 30 minute meeting to get to know each other (virtual or in person) and share initial information before moving forward
  

• Initial Coaching Session - Coaching agreement signed and payment collected - 1 hour session to begin exploring your hopes and wishes for this family vacation

• Include your whole family including your “big kids” in a virtual call to hear everyone’s hopes and wishes for this family vacation.
  
• Dive deep into your WHY for this vacation and how you can design a vacation that provides opportunities for family unity, while also individual self-discovery
